The set up process is not very hard, you just have to read through the manual few times.

Apple’s Airport Express is very useful if you don’t want to sit at a place while listening to music or if you don’t want to carry music in all the portable devices that you have. Setting up Apple Airport express is very hard, Apple says this is plug and play but that is not the case, at least it did not work that way for me. You got to know about your modem, router, internet connection before you can set up airport express. Don’t select, just install everything that came along with the installation disk, if you are using windows operating system like vista or Windows 7, download the latest version of Bonjour from the apple website before you install airport express.
