Apple 13-inch White Macbook Unibody Reviews (3)

Some of the major changes that I noticed in the new Mac book unibody were – first it is 100 dollar cheaper which is more than welcome. The processor speed has been increased from 2.4GHz to 2.53GHz and the RAM is now 4GB which is absolutely essential for running multiple programs without slowing down the whole operating system. With each new version the battery life gets better and better, this time your Mac would last up to 7 hours instead of 4 hours like the earlier models.

Pros: low price, great battery life, sufficient amount of RAM
Cons: the power cord is very short, removing battery not possible, no blue ray.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the new MacBook Pro is that display is better, the colors are vivid and the display is crisp. Even though the screen is glossy, there is not much glare. Thankfully a SD card slot has been added. The keyboard is backlit which helps a lot when I am working at night but it is annoying when I am watching movies, there should be some way to shut down the backlight when I am watching the movies but it is not much of a problem.

Pros: new screen, comfortable keyboard, back light in keyboard
Cons: backlight in keyboard not useful when watching movies, it does not support watching blue ray movies, aluminum case is not strong

The aluminum case is not at all strong; drop it accidently and there will be a nasty dent in the casing. The power cord provided is very short and you have to sit close to the power outlet if you have to charge your MacBook Pro while you are working on it. Even though you wouldn’t have to change the battery often, it is very difficult to remove when you have to change it quickly. The SD card slot sticks out and it looks ugly, it should have been more recessed into the body.

Pros: nice keyboard, crisp and bright screen, good battery life
Cons: short power cord, SD card sticks out, case is not strong
