Unlocked Apple 3G Iphone Reviews (20)

  1. June 14, 2009 by Jason

Good phone but not worth the price.

  2. June 16, 2009 by Heather Ream

I absolutely HATE this phone. Everyone was ranting and raving on about it for months and it was the first time I buckled under peer pressure and it was a lesson learned. The marketing team at apple are just amazing. They can put lipstick on a pig.

The touch screen on this phone is usually slightly delayed which is annoying as hell! There is absolutely NO tactile feedback to let you know you actually touched the right area and it’s literally impossible to text without looking. I mean come on, it looks great but its a pain to use.

The battery life is sub par and not being able to use it on your own carrier?

It got two stars for two reasons, the video is EXCELLENT on this phone (although the space on the device is nowhere NEAR enough) and there are a few handy apps.

All in all, I’d wait for the Nokia N97

  3. June 16, 2009 by Eamon Ryan

I have to disagree Heather, I love this phone. I’ve had every different model since the first gen (and waiting for the 3gS). I’ve always been with At&T so Ive never had a problem with the carrier thing.

The iPhone is great for so much more than you suggested. It is a mini-computer, not a phone. If the iphone only had maps and a web browser, id buy it. But it can make calls and is my ipod too!

  4. June 18, 2009 by Dillan Patel

I’ve had this phone for 6 months and to me it is the best phone at&t has to offer but i accidentally dropped it in water and now the screen will not work. to make matters worse i didn’t buy warranty.

  5. June 29, 2009 by Tom Strauss

Just have to say the first two that wrote the reviews are just idiots. I have to say that my iPhone 3G is worth every penny spent. So easy to text, great video’s, awesome apps and I can just go on and on about it. I don’t know how I would live without it now. Just don’t listen to idiots, treat yourself with the best.

you cant update to any new version of the next firmware updates if you buy this phone jailbroken. the firmware you get with it now is the phone you will have forever unless you try to upgrade in a few months to the next new firmware because then all you will have is a $249 paperweight as it will re-lock and never again be able to be unlocked.

and anyone who thinks this the end all be all of phones – needs to wake up – n95, n96, n97 all crush this phone and any new blackberry, bold, storm, etc. is also in a different category. but what do i know i have actually owned all of them except for the n97 which is no contest going to be the best phone on the market. cant wait to get it.

erik z….nobody listen to this guy (apparently he is too enthralled by overpriced shitty os’s). You CAN upgrade the firmare on a jailbroken and unlocked phone, you just have to wait for the dev team to crack it (which takes them about 2 or 3 days after launch of new firmware) and it is a very simple process. If you need a hand held walkthrough, Gizmodo has a step by step process to do it. Honestly this isn’t the best phone on the market, but I don’t believe in anything like that because the phone quality is based on the end user, and some people can’t get the most out of this phone. Case in point, you need to type a ton of emails…I would NOT recommend the iphone, I would go with something with a physical keyboard personally. All in all, its a super quality product with a TON of support in the market….you could do alot worse for 250 bucks

  8. July 3, 2009 by PC Addict

Heather you are a lunatic! I will buy your phone right now! How much do you want for it?

(who texts while not looking at the phone, and what ARE you looking at anyways?) If you just want to text and talk then get a cheap or free phone. The iPhone Apps are the best part of the whole device! Some (note: SOME) of the games on there are phenomenal and the biz/utility apps are awesome. I day trade with this thing!

Silly teen, give you iPhone to a real user who wants to do more than talk and text. Price it and I’ll buy it.

  9. July 4, 2009 by kaizzle

I give the iphone 5 stars!! Its the best phone I’ve ever used and I’ve had a lot of phones in my time. The texting is just something you need to get used to once your used to it, it’s awesome. The phone is more than just texting and talking if that’s all you do get another phone its not just for that. I think the apps are awesome some are pointless but jsut don’t download them. The thing thats great about this phone is that its a ipod as well so you get a two for one which is even better!! Anyone that says this phone is awful are just impatient and don’t take the time to actually get to know how to use it. It’s people like that, that want to take it out of the box and poof they can use it and know everythign about it without reading about it first. It’s people like that, need to just get a simple phone !!!

well iphone 3 g is not just a phone its an amazing device of the century .i have tried to switch to other phones but i couldnt ,non of the mobiles had the charm like iphone i saw nokia ,soneyE ,black b,moto, n manny more but nothing is there to change with except one phone that is iphone 3g (s) its more greater then 3g, well i am fully satisfied with iphone

  11. July 4, 2009 by Terese Anderson

The Apple iPhone 3G is a step, rather a mountain’s climb above the rest. It’s had a beautiful aesthetic and it’s 3G performance is incomparable. Even newer phones that haven’t hit the market yet cannot compare, i.e., the all-too-late mytouch by tmobile. Apple has revolutionized cell phone technology.

  12. July 4, 2009 by John Meksa

I am a totally devoted macbook user and just think that APPLE is the best. The iPhone is phenominal in every aspect. Lots of APPS are free and some are $.99 (Cents). The G3 is totally adictive and you begin to rely on the G3. Whatever you need is at your hands. Windows is a joke and the G3 makes life a lot easier. Apple products are a bit more expensive but, “Your getting quality.”

  13. July 13, 2009 by jojo

i love this phone it is the greatest phone i ever spent money i just dont understand its setup

    Pros:
    wifi is quick

    Cons:
back gets scratched up pretty easy

  14. July 13, 2009 by MARVIN SMITH

Great phone indeed and easy on the aging eyes compared to my last cell phone. There is so much you can do with this phone, and it is user friendly as well. I love it and recommend it highly

    Pros:
Big TOUCH SCREEN AND USER FRIENDLY

    Cons:
A LOT TO LEARN FOR AN OLD DOG SOMETIMES

  15. July 14, 2009 by Robert

We use these side by side with the blackberry devices. Tom Strauss you are dumber than a crowbar. I have seen users replace these at a rate of about 3 a year per user. That might be good for you however I have Blackberry users that have had devices without cases for three years and they look to be in better shape than the iPhones and are far more durable for less than half the cost. In addition you are not limited to 32 GB because they use mini sd for additional storage. One Blackberry was dropped down an elevator shaft from the 36th floor and recovered by maintenance. No protective case and it still worked. I’ve seen 4 broken screens in less than 6 months on these iPhones and they have protective cases and haven’t take a fall of more than 3 feet.
The iPhones are cool to look at, have a nice screen, the phone part sucks (period), and if you like attaching a constant drain on your bank account for apps etc… then this phone is for you. I really see no advantage for this device over my 5 year old Palm TX other than I could make a poor quality call on it. Actually the Palm allows you to write on the screen like your using a pencil. And since it has wi-fi I can almost always get a connection and browse, check mail, create word , excel, pdfs, download and watch movies for free. Not that a $100 a month isnt a better deal for data access than free.
You either work for AT&T or your a lying cell phone salesman neither of which would make your appraisal of the device worth a darn.
Overall this is a fancy toy for twenty somethings. Nice to look at. Works okay. Okay for browsing the web but clearly works best on Wi-Fi which is free at many places. It is way over priced. I used to purchase these for AT&T and they pay about $40 each for these devices.

    Pros:
    Looks nice, large display

    Cons:
Poor keyboard design, worst phone I have ever used. My analogue phone under waters with the battery out was better. Get the idea??? Extremely Fragile.

  16. July 15, 2009 by Marc T.

One of the worst Apple products so far. I had serious problems with the 3g reception and synching. The battery life is terrible, sometimes the whole phone just hangs for a few seconds. The BlueTooth is poor and the phone reboots frequently. Firmware upgrades didnt help, even made the things worse. I’m really disappointed.

    Pros:
    Design, clear sound

    Cons:
lack of features, poor 3g reception, limited sms application, battery life

  17. August 9, 2009 by renee

this is not only a phone, its a travling office.

    Pros:
i love everything about this phone

    Cons:

  18. August 11, 2009 by M.Wilson

The I phone 3g is the best phone I have owned it gives you access to the web as well as allot of applications that can help cure boredom or help get thing done like Quick Office. AT&T is the biggest down side for the phone but there coverage seems to be good enough and occasionally better than verizon.

    Pros:
    the Apps and Ipod

    Cons:
AT&T dropped calls and lack of multimedia text messages

I have been loyal to my Blackberry for years but after hearing coworkers raving about their iphones I finally bought the 32GB 3GS IPhone. I feel that I bought the best Iphone has to offer. Being completely honest the IPhone is nowhere in the same league as my Blackberry. Its a interesting, fun phone if your bored and need to be entertained. As far multitasking and quick functionability for business travel communication needs stay with the Blackberry if you have one. Do not make the same mistake I did. Luckily I have a additional line of service that Ive transferred my Blackberry tofor myself. As far as the Iphone I gave it to my 13 yr. old son.

    Pros:
Fun phone if you need it for entertainment only!!

    Cons:
Very limited options for professional communication needs.

    Pros:
    great apps
    good battery life

    Cons:
    scratches easily
