Well, it’s official. The stories, the rumors, the speculation and the amazement of the entire Apple fan club. It appears that a product engineer lost a very late stage prototype while out celebrating his 27th birthday. The guys over at Gizmodo have done a fantasticjob of chasing this down and the story which I wont go into here is an interesting and exciting tale. The photos are confirmed and are genuine so folks, this is what the new Apple iPhone in 2010 will look like:
These images have been borrowed from Gizmodo and the entire gallery can be viewed here. Although the phone was remotely blocked by Apple immediately, the guys at Gizmodo took the thing apart and some very interesting and exciting new features have come to be know:
- We’re finally getting a better camera…. with a flash!
- There will be a front facing camera for those video calls (which I’m sure will only work over Wi-Fi).
- It’s made of a new material, probably to improve wi-fi signal.
- It’s flat and looks like it will fit better into our pockets.
- It has noise reduction.
- It takes a Micro SD card.
- The screen is smaller but the resolution is higher.
- All new metallic buttons.
- Ability to run iPhone OS4
The entire story, the unfolding and the drama can all be viewed here.
While it won’t be as much of an upgrade from the probably cheaper iPhone 3GS, as long as it has 64GB on board, I’ll be first in the queue at my local Apple store.
