Canon EOS 7D SLR Digital Camera (body only)

Our Price: $697

The price tag on the more professional range of DSLR cameras can put off most hobbyist photographers, but the Canon EOS 7D is the first affordable advanced DSLR from Canon and is a welcome entrant in the pro-consumer market. The Canon EOS 7D is probably the best overall Canon APS-C sensor DSLR currently available. In terms of features and build quality the 7D is as good as it gets in this price range, and fares extremely well against its more expensive main rival, the Nikon D300s.

What makes it stand out about the others is its incredible 18.0-megapixel CMOS Sensor and Dual DIGIC 4 Image Processors for high image quality and speed, its advanced HD movie mode with manual exposure control and selectable frame rates and its intelligent viewfinder with 100 percent field of view, its wireless triggering and flash for taking photos with a remote control. The biggest welcome addition to the Canon EOS 7D is HD video, giving you the ability to capture the kind of quality video you would expect from a professional HD video camcorder but with far more features and much cheaper lens options. The 7D is also a very capable yet cheaper alternative for SLR video than its big brother the Canon 5D mark ii.

The Canon EOS 7D is also dust and weather sealed, meaning you’ll never have to worry about taking outdoor shots again. The Canon EOS 7D is a sturdy and incredibly versatile DSLR that is advanced and yet affordable. You won’t regret choosing this amazing camera and shouldn’t delay in snapping one of these up today.

Canon EOS 7D SLR Digital Camera (body only) Reviews (1)

  1. October 3, 2011 by Ryan R

I almost bought the more expensive 5D Mark II, but I’m really glad I found the EOS 7D instead. It’s an incredible camera, for both photography and video. I do some video blogging as well as photo blogging, so this is the perfect combination of kit for me. It’s easy to use, once you learn what everything does, but depending on your experience with DSLR cameras it could take longer for you to figure everything out. Taking video is not as straight forward as you would think as there is a lot of corrections to make because this is such a professional piece of equipment. Also, the video is HUGE, so you need a really good computer and editing software to get to grips with it, video this size is not for the faint hearted. But if you’re willing to put the time in, have a powerful PC or Mac with Final Cut Pro, get one of these bad boys and take your video to the next level.

    Pros: Great value for money.
Cons: No live view for video.
