Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V

Our Price: $187

Looking for one of the top point and shoot cameras on the market? With the Cyber Shot DSC-HX5V, Sony has used the backside illuminated Exmor RCMOS sensor, Bionz image processor and a Sony G lens to improve the shooting performance and low light photo quality. This camera also has a compact wide angle mega zoom. And after testing it for a bit I have to say that these additional technologies do improve the photo quality and the low light photos are better then what you get from any other camera available in the market.

The shooting speeds of Cyber Shot DSC-HX5V are also excellent – there is very little shutter lag, the shot to shot times are really short and the burst mode is capable of 10 frames per second. The Sony Cyber Shot DSC-HX5V is much more than a simple camera. It is packed with lots of useful stuff a the built-in GPS receiver and compass. This allows you to chart where photos are taken when you’re posting them online, perfect for vacation photography. This camera looks like the bigger version of Sony’s WX1. It has a slight cylindrical grip on the right side which gives you the place to rest your fingertips in front and a thumb in back. Even though Sony Cyber Shot DSC-HX5V has long zoom and wide angle lens, it is very compact and lightweight. Most of the weight is concentrated on the battery pack.

The controls of Sony Cyber Shot DSC-HX5V are very easy to learn and use. On top is the shooting-mode dial, shutter release and zoom ring, power button and a button to turn on and off burst shooting. On top, you will find the stereo mic openings and the sliver of a flash on the front right side. On back to the right is the 3-inch LCD which is bright and cleat. Below that is a Playback button, directional pad with a select button at its center, a menu button and a Delete button. The single menu button provides access to all the settings except for the shooting modes which are handled by the dial on top. This makes taking photos very easy and is an ideal first digital camera or a super upgrade if you're looking for a portable camera that is great in low-light and takes amazing panoramic shots. If you're interested in landscape photography, then this is definitely the camera for you. Simply guide the camera around a wide landscape in panoramic mode and the camera will intelligently piece together an amazing panoramic image. This is even better than the panoramic feature seen on the Nikon COOLPIX L120. We've got a very special discount on the Sony Cyber Shot DSC-HX5V but there is limited stock so buy yours today.
