Sony Cybershot DSCW120/B 7.2MP Reviews (2)

  1. July 20, 2009 by Goran

It makes great photos, the smile shutter is a fun feature but not really useful. There is a slide show with music option which is also fun. The negative things I found are the lack of zoom feature during video recording, videos cannot be played as slideshow and there are only four preset modes. The battery life is ok, even when shoting indors for a long time using flash. The display is good for reviewing the photos, but the only photo manipulation you can do with the camera is rotating the photos, if you need anything else, that should be done using a computer.

The dimensions and the weight is good, it is definitely a pocket friendly camera. The price is ok also, but if you need more options and better video recording I’d recommend to go with the Sony w130.

    Pros:
great shots, crisp photos, high iso

    Cons:
only a few shooting modes, no video zoom

I wanted an affordable camera, I read many reviews and this one seemed the best for me. The body is from nice brushed aluminum, mine is black (also available in silver, pink and blue) It really looks like a more expensive camera.. The smile shutter feature is brilliant, I use it a lot. The steady shot feature works well, it prevents blur in low light conditions. The full auto easy shooting mode is really great for those who just want to click and take great photos without knowing anything about photography.

The button layout and the manu system is good, easy to use. Battery life is ok. The camera has an optical viewfinder also which zooms together with the lens, it is cool. Overall the camera is amazing, in this price range I’d highly recommend it.

    Pros:
excellent pictures, auto shooting modes for beginners, steady shot, price

    Cons:
    low LCD resolution
