Apple stepped onto the Amazon Kindle's turf with the launch of iBooks for the iPad and now Kindle are taking a step into the tablet realm at a very competitive price-point. There's no denying that this is a great idea because Amazon have access to a huge library of entertainment, not just in the form of books but movies, TV shows and games also. All eyes are on the Kindle Fire now to see this reversal of a dedicated reading device that is also a tablet. This has been done before with the Barnes & Noble Nook Color but Amazon Prime offers a huge database to members who can enjoy not only unlimited, but also instant streaming of over 10,000 movies and TV shows on their Kindle Fire.

The device will also sport a web browser developed by Amazon called "Amazon Silk." Amazon Silk is a cloud-accelerated web browser with support for Adobe Flash. You don't have to worry about memory size with cloud storage because all digital content can be stored for free, wirelessly in the Amazon cloud. The Kindle Fire will definitely have an appeal for people who are avid comic book readers as well as those with kids. There are over 1000 illustrated kids books, many of which are interactive and perfect for reading with children. Although other Kindles are perfect for reading novels, the e-ink display does not lend itself to children's books very well. The vibrant color of the 7-inch multi-touch display is also perfect for comic books, magazines and cookbooks. You can browse before you buy and have them wirelessly transferred to your device. Set up subscriptions for your favorite magazines and newspapers, and these will also show up wirelessly on your Kindle Fire.

It doesn't stop there either. the is a host of games like Angry Birds, puzzles, music and other apps to enjoy on this device. You can watch all your favorite movies and TV shows too, purchase or rent them for hours of entertainment. Your Kindle Fire gives you one free month of Amazon Prime here you can enjoy unlimited, instant, commercial-free content for free. The battery life for this lightweight device is really impressive. You can enjoy 8 hours continuous reading or 7.5 hours video playback on a single charge. The Kindle Fire is so compact and light that you can take it with you anywhere. It weighs only 14.6 ounces, even lighter than the Kindle Keyboard. The Kindle Fire is definitely the hottest new device to have. We've got a special offer on the Kindle Fire but stock is very limited so get your order in quickly.

Kindle Fire Reviews (1)

  1. January 27, 2013 by Jerry ODell

I had a kindle fire. But I just read books with it, and it helps me in my study of italian.

The confounded kindle flipped the screen around, did other odd things, and I didn’t seem able
to turn the wi fi off (just turn off the router)

Good machine, I guess, but I gave it to my neighbor.

    Pros: good reader
Cons: seemed like a lousy computer
