Nintendo DSi (2nd Generation)

Our Price: $120

The DSi is the slimmest portable gaming device that Nintendo have released yet. Unlike the Sony PSP, it has two 3.25-inch screens for a gaming experience that really sucks you in.You can have lots of fun with the built-in cameras that allow you to take and distort photos of friends and family. Add different effects to photos or get mischievous with the pictures you have taken. The colourpad lens lets you change the colours of a photo. The resemblance lens can scan two people's faces and tell you how alike they are and you can also merge faces to see what a combination of the two would look like. When you've enjoyed all the playing around with the camera, you can sit back and enjoy your creations on a slideshow. If you have a friend with a DSi, you can easily send photos to each other also. There's a lot of enjoyment to be had with audio also. You can distort audio and use sound clips to help with language and music learning.

Of course, the Nintendo DSi is much more than a device for having fun with photos and audio. You can use your Wi-Fi (which the first generation DS lite does not have) connection to browse the web and check the weather. Most importantly, the DSi is a great portable gaming device. With hundreds of games to choose from and hours of entertainment to be had playing both solo and challenging friends over Wi-Fi whether the are in the same room or a different country. This gaming device is a definite must-have. Buys yours today at a jaw dropping price here.

My nephews (7 & 8) love the DSi. They play both individual and multiplayer games. They loved the wireless games when they finally figured out how to connect with each other. Older children would like the PSP better. But for the younger set the DSi is great. The games keep them occupied when traveling – even works well at night.

    Pros:
Games can be bought used on Amazon.com to offset the cost of games. They can be powered in the car or at home by an adapter. The console is fairly rugged. The two year guarantee is great.

    Cons:
Games are relatively expensive. Used ones from Amazon.com are great. When a kid gets the DSi – parents better be ready to shell out money for games.
