Nintendo WII Fit Reviews (2)

  1. July 21, 2009 by Clayton Tallon

I was very excited to get one of these when the first time I saw it. Fitness and gaming together, it should be something exciting. I have ordered it without hesitation.

Once I got it, it was easy to set up out of the box, the Wii Balance board, the Wii Fit game disc, and batteries. The Wii Balance Board is amazing. It can sense in real time your weight and balance with it’s sensors. It is using a wireless technology, so you can move it freely around the room. Once I had it connected to my Wii I had to select my personal Mii character and to enter my Body Mass Index what is based on my weight & height. The profile can be password protected, so noone could see your weight if you don’t want to.

The device also requires you to calculate your Wii Fit Age, this is based on your actual age, your BMI and some simple exercises.

There are four different types of activity from you can choose, these are Yoga, Aerobics, Strength Training and Balance Games. All of them are pretty fun, boxing and snowboarding are my favorites. Everytime after about 30 mins of “playing” I get tired, so you can do a plenty of physical activity with this device.

I can only recommend this thing to everyone, it’s something that will make you fit while gaming, incredible.

    Pros:
fun, helps you to remain fit

    Cons:
    none I have found

This is an excellent equipment. I have got it about two weeks ago and I use it every day. The only thing I dislike about it is that you cannot customize the excercises. I spend a lot of time on clicking to repeat an excercise, I cannot set it to last for eg. 25 minutes, so I lose time on setting up the excercise again and again, and this way for eg. I spend 40 minutes on the board and it logs only 30 actual minutes. Hopefully a software update will solve this fault.

The equipment works well, the sensors are pretty sensitive to the slightest movements. I’d like to see a multiplayer excercise game too. It is really a fun and very useful to do some excercises while gaming, I would highly recommend it.

    Pros:
makes you sweat, you’ll lose weight

    Cons:
not really customizable, no multiplayer for balance games
