Army of Two: The 40th Day (Xbox 360, 2010)

Our Price: $9

Looking for an Xbox game to get your adrenaline pumping? Army of Two: The 40th Day is a third-person shooter in which your objective is simple: get out of the city, which is being ripped apart by missiles. Straight off the bat what I found about Army of Two: The 40th Day was that it was an enjoyable shooter with good graphics. To be honest you will notice that The 40th Day doesn’t really have the best of plots (you will wonder why on occasions certain things are happening) but it most certainly compensates with action. The game is all about the aesthetics of a third shooter game, the game gives you multiple ruined environments, cool gun designs and details animations that add to overall action effect.

The 40th Day gives really strong gunplay and movement mechanics are which are coherent and sharp. The game also encourages you to use teamwork with easy to follow but rewarding tactical elements. Though I will admit that it can be tricky at times as sprinting, sliding into cover, hurdling over cover, entering a mounted gun position and rolling as they are all mapped to one button. In solo mode you'll be given an AI teammate, who will do a fine job and not get into trouble. Unless you decide to change the tactical commands then it might be your fault if your AI buddy dies. The main thing is to watch the aggro meter, which shows which of you the enemy is concentrating its fire on. There is plenty to develop on the gameplay and how best to play but I'm sure you'll work it out for yourself and it these layers within the gameplay which give it's replayability.

The 40th Day has given attention to macabre touches like playing rock-paper-scissors whilst standing over the corpses of your enemies or slamming you custom designed gun into their skull. So it’s bound to get a laugh from those of you who have a dark sense of humour. The 40th Day is good fun game both in campaign and the online multiplayer mode which will deliver stimulating action, strong graphics and overall good replay value. Overall, this is definitely one to add to your Xbox collection.

I was very excited about this game especially after the first game was so much fun to play. I had very high expectations for this game but I was let down by it. Some of the things which made the first game so awesome were missing here like morality, hard fighting brutality, co-op mechanism etc. were missing or underdeveloped in this game. This latest game is everything that the previous game was except even thinner storyline.

    Pros: graphics, action, guns
    Cons: story, controls, gameplay

I love Army of Two: The 40th Day, It is a really nice game. I have not played the previous version of this game and I don’t think I missed anything much because both the versions look similar and there is hardly any difference between them except for the story of course. But it is a very short game and you could easily finish it in six or seven hours even in the hard mode.

    Pros: graphics, gameplay, action
Cons: controls, short story, game finishes quickly.

Army of Two: The 40th day is adrenalin pumping action game. I felt that this game was shorter than the first game. I finished it in eight hours continuous play. The game is fun, that is undeniable but it is very short, I expected the game to last me at least two week. The graphics are amazing, a little better than the first game. The action too was less than the first game which was full of action.

    Pros: graphics, action, easy game.
    Cons: gameplay,controls, short game
