Assassin’s Creed 2 takes place in 2012 and begins with Desmond Miles making an escape from Abstergo Industries with employee Lucy Stillman. Desmond Miles enters the life of his ancestor Ezio Auditore da Firenze through the Animus, a machine which allows you to relive genetic memories of those from the past. This time he does so by choice to train himself as an assassin.The gameplay is nonlinear with a combination of action and stealth as you play as Ezio who is acting as a vigilante after the murder of his father and brothers.The game takes you on an exciting adventure in Italy during the 15th and 16th centuries.
Building on all the things it did right with the first game, this sequel provides a riveting tale of revenge taking place in both the past and present. If gameplay becomes too daunting at times, you can practice all the basics of hiding, picking pockets, fight and assassinate. This game is visually delightful, builds up great tension with music and is often very humorous in its story-telling and character development. With more weapons to purchase and more variety in tasks, Assassin’s Creed 2 most certainly surpasses the original game and is a must buy for all those that enjoy open world and nonlinear gameplay.
