Finally a sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and well worth the wait too. Modern Warfare 2 is a first person shooter that takes place in modern combat settings, instead of World War 2 like its predecessors. The graphics in this game are incredible, whether you play it on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 or on a gaming PC, and the sound effects are amazing, bullets zip past you both visually and aurally, creating a heightened sense of realism.
This is really fun game with some intense battle sequences that take place all over the world, from the snow-clad mountains of Kazakhstan, to dark tunnels in the Afghanistan, to the crowded slums of Rio.
There are three game options – Campaign mode: which is very in-depth and immerses you in combat, Special Ops: missions which are even better played with two players, and online Multiplayer. This game really comes into its own when played in online co-op or multiplayer modes.
It’s an incredible experience playing against other human beings instead of the in-game AI. The more you play the higher your ranking goes, which unlocks more weapons and items. It’s highly addictive and competitive out there, but it's certainly not for the feint hearted and if you're not willing to play rough maybe you should stick to something like Guitar Hero.
