The HP Pavilion dv6000 is a new 15.4-inch wide-screen laptop that is designed with weight in mind. Many people sacrifice a widescreen for the ease of portability but the dv6000 combines the two weighing just 6.2 pounds. It measures 14 inches wide, 10.1 inches deep, and 1 inch thick. This means you an carry it around with no burden and still enjoy a 15.4-inch widescreen with 1,280x800 resolution for working and enjoying movies and games. The screen has a glossy finish, which makes colours brighter and more vivid for your enjoyment. While she's not even in the same league as the Sony Vaio-P ultra portable, She performs wonderfully too.

Specifications wise for the HP DV6000, we’re talking 2 GB of DDR2 memory, 160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive, AMD Turion 64, dual core processor, 256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7200 and LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support. There are three USB ports, an ExpressCard 54 Slot, Integrated Consumer IR, four-pin FireWire, VGA and Video Out. There are two built-in microphones a 1.3-megapixel Webcam built in to the dv6000. This means you have everything you need for chatting with family and friends abroad, using Skype and video conferencing.

Along the top of the keyboard lie Quicklaunch media buttons to directly launch your DVDs and music (like most other HP laptops, including the TX2500z). There are also two headphone jacks which is really convenient for sharing your entertainment.
