Would you like to get your hands on one of the most popular smartphones on the market? The HTC Desire is powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor to run Android OS. It comes with sedate design of a dark case enclosing a massive 3.7-inch OLED capacitive touch screen. While it does thankfully have a great big screen that is awesome for video and browsing the web, it is not a whopper of a device in the hand. In actual fact the phone is a slim measuring just 119 x 60 x 11.9 mm, and weighing barely133g.

The screen on the HTC Desire is simply to die for – its OLED screen portrays such glorious color reproduction. The 3.7-inch screen is spectacularly bright and clear. The screen supports 16m colors and has a 480 x 800 pixel ratio. The touchscreen is extremely responsive, so good in fact that it can rival the iPhone 4. The HTC Desire has an internal memory οf 576 MB RAM аnԁ 512 MB ROM. It has the advantage of expandable memory as there is an extra card slot which can take an external micro SD card up to 32GB. Plus it can with its 3G ability you can access the Internet at a speed up tο 7.2mbps. Google Talk is included so can you to chat online but there is no integration for Windows Messenger or similar. However email is a big part of this phone too so it handles Gmail, POP3/IMAP webmail accounts or Exchange in all three modes. It is simple to set up your e-mail and you’ll be ready to send and receive mail in seconds.

The HTC has a 5MP camera which gives a very rounded performance and ideal for someone who really only uses their mobile to take photos. The camera interface is very intuitive. It has options for brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness which can be brought out by a simple touch on the menu tab. The video can take QVGA (320 x 240), CIF (352 x 288), VGA (DVD quality, 640 x 480) or WVGA (800 x 480), and all four can be recorded to MP4 or H.263 formats which makes it extremely easy to share your videos online without the need to convert them first. The music player works great also. It has a 3.5mm headphone port so you can plug in your regular headphones. The player has large, easy-to-hit buttons on the main menu and cover art that you can swipe through in both portrait and landscape modes. If you’d rather use a phone that means you don’t have to deal with iTunes, then the HTC Desire is definitely worth a look.

The HTC Desire is a strong smartphone with good functionality throughout all its uses. If you’re looking at smartphone that can most definitely rival the iPhone, then the HTC Desire is the one for you.

Unlocked HTC Desire Reviews (2)

HTC Desire is HTC’s answer to the Google Nexus One phone which too has been built by HTC. HTC Desire is almost similar to Nexus one is lot of ways. Nexus one has stock android and premium android features whereas HTC Desire has sense UI which adds to the functionality and the look of Android. HTC Desire has more home screens than Nexus one and I think the keyboard provided by the HTC Sense UI is far better than the keyboard in the stock android.

Pros: nice screen, integration with google services, sense UI
Cons: no multi color notifications, lack of colors, battery life.

HTC Desire is a great phone. It is my first android phone and I am really digging it. I love the Android platform, I love the way all the Google services are integrated into the device. Once I enter my Google username and password, all my contacts, calendar entries, picasa photos, notes and email are synced with HTC desire. It really cannot get any easier than this.

Pros: screen, google integration, apps sync
    Cons: camera, battery, video recording
