The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is marketed towards people who use their phone as their music player also. The 5800 has a resistive touch-screen. This means you can choose whether to navigate the touch-screen with your fingers or the integrated stylus. As a nice musical touch, Nokia have also included a guitar plectrum that hangs from a wrist strap. You can use this plectrum as an alternative to the stylus if you don’t want to smudge the screen. Most importantly for a music phone, the speaker is loud. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack so you can use whatever earphones you want with this phone, not just the standard Nokia ones. The LCD screen is great for watching videos. It is very bright and clear at 640 X 360 resolution. As an 8GB card comes included with this device, you’ll have plenty of space for your music and video collection. The 5800 Xpress Music comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash.
This phone gives you plenty of text input options. As it comes with a stylus, it supports handwriting recognition. It also offers the standard alphanumeric keypad, a full QWERTY keyboard and even a mini QWERTY keyboard. Other great features on this device include GPS and WiFi for browsing the web.

This phone has everything I need. I found only a few minor issues, like incorrect colors when taking photos, everything is a bit greenish. I don’t know if it’s software or hardware related, but it’s pretty anoying. The phone itself doesn’t feel sturdy enough, my brother has an iphone and it feels very solid.
The browser can play flash movies, so you can watch youtube videos on it, it is great for the wap sites, but it has some problems with loading the regular sites, usually it takes quite long. Installing Opeara Mini can help a lot with these problems
Typing on it can take a while to get used to, after a few weeks practice I can say that I can type pretty fast on it, not like on a hardware keyboard, but I’m satisfied
Overall, the phone is great, I would recommend it to anyone who wants a phone with these features.
Pros:
all the great features – music player, connectivity, gps, cam…
Cons:
camera colors
I picked up this phone a few months ago, and I can say I’m pretty satisfied with it so far. I’m a heavy texter and I must say that this phone is not the best option for texters. I’m sending hundreds of text messages a month and I still cannot get myself to type fast enough.
The wifi works great, it has no problem with connecting to networks. The built in browser is a bit slow but downloading third party browser app helped a lot. The camera is pretty decent, although not that great that the camera in the SE phones. The built in FM radio works well, and the battery lasts pretty long without much multitasking.
As a music player, this phone is absolutely brilliant! It’s a full featured mp3 player with great features and excellent usability. It’s recommended to anyone who want’s a great phone and an awesome music player in a single device.
