Have you been looking for a top of the range Android tablet? The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 16GB tablet is the best Adroid tablet to ever hit the market. It is packed with a host of fantastic features that will impress even the hard to please. The Eee Pad Transformer has a has a capacitive touch screen display with a wide screen aspect ratio. It measures 10.1-inches which is a great tablet size and the wide screen aspect makes it more comfortable to use in the landscape mode.

The device looks and feels solid; it has a textured backside which provides an added grip that I think is better than the smooth surface of iPad 2, which are prone to slipping out of hand. The iPad 2 is definitely the main competitor of the Eee Pad Transformer but it does have some great advantages over the iPad. For one, it has expandable memory which means that you can increase the memory capacity of the device down the line without having to worry about deleting certain files. The Eee Pad Transformer also displays flash, and is quick about it also. This leaves the whole web open to users of this tablet.

The speakers of this device are located on the left and right side. It has two cameras as well which is becoming the norm in the latest and upcoming tablet devices. In the front you get 1.2 megapixel camera which is used for video chatting and in the back is a 5 megapixel camera which can be used for taking photos and recording videos. Both the cameras are located next the top centre of the device. The 5 megapixel camera in the back is actually very good and it produces excellent images, it takes very high quality video too. Saying that, it is a little awkward carrying a 10+ inch device to take photos and videos. On the right side of the device there is a micro SD card slot, a Mini-HDMI port, a microphone pinhole, and a headphone jack. On the left are the power/lock button and the volume rocker. At the bottom you will find the 40-pin connector for charging the battery or connecting to a PC for data transfer. This device also includes goodies like Bluetooth 2.1 for audio and peripheral support. The Wi-Fi antenna supports bands up to 802.11n. It has embedded sensors for screen brightness, accelerometer, and gyroscope which are great for changing orientation and playing games. Of course, the most appealing aspect about the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer is where it gets its name from. This device can easily can clicked into a keyboard which gives it a very netbook feel and allows for productivity on the go. The keyboard also increases the battery life by several hours. If you've been trying to decide between buying a netback like the Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 or a tablet, then you can have both with the 16GB ASUS Eee Pad Transformer. Pick one up here at a great price.

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 16GB Reviews (1)

  1. October 3, 2011 by Andy

When you just can’t choose between a netbook and a tablet computer the Asus Transformer is an amazing compromise. I can play for hours on this thing and then, click it into it’s keyboard and get some work done. It’s the perfect gadget for home and work, I absolutely love mine and can’t believe Apple never thought of this idea first.

Pros: Great value, keyboard is a great bonus.
Cons: Not as sturdy as I thought.
