HTC Flyer Wi-Fi tablet

Our Price: $387

The Flyer is a tablet device by HTC designed for people who like to draw, sketch or take a lot of notes. This tablet is a high-end device that runs on Android's Gingerbread operating system combined with all of the great features of HTC Sense. Design-wise, the HTC flyer is quite unique. It is similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Tab in terms of size but tablet is encased in high quality aluminum, which makes it similar to the iPad in that respect. It also has two strips of non-slip rubber padding on the back to give you a good grip. The flyer has a bright, clear 7-inch touch screen with an ambient light sensor.

Taking a tour of the tablet, there is headphone jack on the top, along with the power button, a micro SD card slot and a screen lock. On the right side you will find quite a large volume rocker along with two pinhole microphones for recording high quality audio at meetings or lectures. On the back of the tablet, there are two small speaker grilles and a 5-megapixel camera that is capable of recording video in high definition. On the front of the tablet is a front-facing 1.3-megpaixel autofocus camera, which is ideal for video chat. At the bottom of the device, you’ll find a 12-pin Micro-USB port, compatible with the included USB sync cable and charging adapter.

Under the screen, you’ll find the typical navigation keys that are displayed on most Android devices. One really impressive feature of the touch navigation controls is that they reorient to the bottom of the screen no matter which way you are holding the tablet device (portrait or landscape). This is a really neat little feature that can improve productivity. There are also some illuminated keys that respond to HTC’s Magic Pen only. This Magic Pen is an optional accessory for those that want to use the device to take hand written notes, to sketch and to draw on. The Magic Pen is what makes the HTC flyer really special. If you’re someone who loves to draw or write notes physically, then this tablet is the one for you. It allows for real pen interaction- you can do everything from scribbling notes over documents, underlining certain passages in ebooks or emails, signing important documents, editing photos and even painting intricate masterpieces. It's just like having all of the power of a Wacom Bamboo Pen in a portable tablet device.

If you’re someone who always carries a notebook, it’s time to put that down and pick up the HTC Flyer here at a great price today.
