The third installment in the incredibly popular Fallout series, Fallout 3 for Xbox is set in a post-apocalyptic Washington DC. The story is very engaging; it involves vault 101, a fallout shelter that has served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs. Drawing on aspects from the Cold War and nuclear propaganda, this game takes these issues to crate a wasteland of giant insects, raiders, slavers and super mutants. You've known Vault 101 as your only home for your whole life but when your father leaves the vault for mysterious reasons, you follow him to find out the truth of his mysterious disappearance.

The gameplay is incredible, as a single player role playing action adventure, this is a step above the rest. Once you have been to a certain place, you can instantly travel there again by locating that area on your map. Finding your father is your main quest. Everything else you encounter are side quests that develop your character. You become the person you want to be- do bad things and you will be hated, do good things and you will be loved. How you develop your character is completely up to you as is what skills you choose to develop.

This option means that you'll probably want to play the game all over again as a completely different character with new skills and abilities. It's all about detail and the graphics in Fallout 3 are incredible. From stains on a mattress to the design of the (), everything is so meticulous. The graphics have come on leaps and bounds. The crowd finally look realistic as do the players facial expressions.
