It’s nice to see a tablet moving away from the typical design of the iPad and give us something different. Adam has a thicker design by far than the usual tablet, but for good reason. It has two USB ports and a HDMI slot that are fully sized, just like you’d find on a laptop. It also has a pair of stereo speakers – one at each side and is powered by three cell batteries. That’s a lot to pack in, yet it still weighs just 1.6 pounds, which is the same as the popular Motorola Xoom and lightweight in terms of a tablet device.

The design of the Notion Ink Adam is different from other popular tablets in terms of casing also. The back is made of black plastic with a matte finish so it is not a fingerprint magnet. The handle has a rubber mesh coating, which makes it very easy to hold. One the upper left hand corner of the bezel there are four capacitive touch buttons.
