Are you looking for a tablet with a difference? Adam is a touch screen tablet by Notion Ink that has quite a unique design. It’s nice to see a tablet moving away from the typical design of the iPad and give us something different. Adam has a thicker design by far than the usual tablet, but for good reason. It has two USB ports and a HDMI slot that are fully sized, just like you’d find on a laptop. It also has a pair of stereo speakers – one at each side and is powered by three cell batteries. That’s a lot to pack in, yet it still weighs just 1.6 pounds, which is the same as the popular Motorola Xoom and lightweight in terms of a tablet device.

The design of the Notion Ink Adam is different from other popular tablets in terms of casing also. The back is made of black plastic with a matte finish so it is not a fingerprint magnet. The handle has a rubber mesh coating, which makes it very easy to hold. One the upper left hand corner of the bezel there are four capacitive touch buttons. These buttons look good and are very responsive but they are not backlit and they do not provide vibrating feedback. As this is mostly a touch screen device, this is no deal breaker.
